Dear all,
This month I have been doing some reflecting on the last year, and had the realisation that next month I will have worked for INMAT for four years. While this time has flown by, I was struck by the amount we have accomplished in what, educationally, is a very short space of time. The children who were in Year 3 when I joined have just completed their SATs and are about to leave us for secondary education. The children who joined us in reception year have just finished their first year in key stage 2. These are significant milestones, and I am proud to have played a small part in their journey through our schools.
In four years, we have achieved much together. In April, Ashby Fields was judged to be ‘good’ in all areas, meaning that we now have 11 ‘good’ schools. This is a superb achievement given the challenges faced by some of our schools over this time. It is right to say that all our schools have continued to strive to do what is right and what is best for our pupils. We know that when we have a really strong curriculum and really great teaching, our children will thrive.
This has been reflected again this year in our phonics and SAT results across the trust. In phonics, 90% of our children passed the phonics screening check, 9% more than the national average. A great grounding in early reading means these children will be able to access learning in every subject as they move through their education. At key stage 2, across the trust 65% of our pupils will go to secondary school as a ‘triple threat’, with secure knowledge in reading, writing and maths. This is 3% more than the national average.
Moving forwards, I am looking forward to welcoming Rothwell Junior and Rothwell Victoria Infant schools to INMAT in the autumn term. We are already working closely with the two schools and know that we can share knowledge to help our pupils continue to buck the national trend.
I wish everyone a restful summer break, with a few adventures thrown in for good measure. A huge thank you from me for all your support, dedication and commitment to INMAT again this year.
Helen Williams

As we head into the summer holidays, it’s been a fantastic final term at Little Harrowden Primary School, packed with memorable experiences and shining examples of our school values in action.
Sports Day Triumph – Sunshine, Teamwork and Smiles!
Despite the weather trying its best to spoil the fun, the sunshine finally broke through to make Sports Day in June a brilliant celebration of sport and school spirit. From start to finish, children took part with enthusiasm, determination, and energy, showing incredible resilience, kindness, and teamwork.
Whether racing down the track or cheering from the sidelines, it was heart-warming to see the children supporting each other and showing such pride in their houses.
It was a day to remember, filled with smiles, encouragement, and plenty of action!

Year 4’s Stanwick Lakes Adventure – Learning Comes to Life
Our Year 4 class trip to Stanwick Lakes was a real highlight of the term. Children explored the natural environment, bringing their classroom learning about rivers and the water cycle to life.
They observed real examples of meanders, riverbanks, and water flow, combining geography, teamwork, and environmental awareness in one memorable day outdoors. The trip sparked curiosity and encouraged children to connect classroom knowledge with the world around them.

Year 6 Enterprise Day – Budding Entrepreneurs Shine Bright!
Our amazing Year 6 pupils showed creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial flair during Enterprise Day. From planning and designing posters to securing local sponsorship and running their own stalls, they impressed everyone with their organisation and positivity.
The event was buzzing with energy and community spirit, with children from all year groups enjoying the fun while Year 6 raised funds for their end-of-year celebrations. It was a wonderful demonstration of confidence and business skills in action!

We are delighted to share some fantastic news to round off the academic year - every single INMAT school is now officially rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted!
This incredible achievement is the result of years of hard work, determination, and unwavering commitment from our dedicated school leaders, teachers, support staff, governors, trustees, and of course, our wonderful pupils and families.
Earlier this year, following a series of inspections across our Trust, we reached a major milestone: all 11 INMAT schools have been judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with inspectors praising the quality of education, strong leadership, and caring, inclusive environments across our schools.

“This is a huge moment for INMAT. To have every school rated ‘Good’ demonstrates our shared vision of providing high-quality education and putting children at the heart of everything we do.”
— Helen Williams, CEO, INMAT
Some of our schools have made remarkable journeys to get to this point. Schools previously judged as ‘Requires Improvement’ have been transformed through effective leadership, collaborative working, and support from across the Trust. This progress shows what’s possible when a community pulls together with a shared purpose.
“With INMAT’s unwavering support, we transformed from Inadequate to Good. We’re proud of our journey and grateful for every step we’ve taken together.”
— Headteacher, INMAT School
This year has been full of inspiring moments: new curriculum projects, successful community events, sports victories, creative arts showcases, and exciting trips and experiences. The recognition from Ofsted highlights the incredible work happening every day in our classrooms.
Looking Ahead
While we celebrate this collective success, we are far from standing still. We are ambitious for our pupils, determined to keep raising standards, and committed to nurturing the very best start in life for every child in our care.
Thank you to all our staff, governors, families, and children for making this achievement possible. Together, we are showing what true collaboration can achieve.

Record-Breaking Enterprise Day Raises £1,500!
Every year, our brilliant Year 6 pupils and staff lead the charge in organising Enterprise Day, a much-loved event where they set up stalls, games, and activities for the whole school to enjoy a fantastic morning of fun, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
This year’s event was our most successful ever, raising an incredible £1,500, the highest total the school has ever achieved!
All the money raised helps to give our Year 6 pupils a memorable send-off. Funds go towards a heavily-discounted trip to Drayton Manor, Leavers' Hoodies, and other well-deserved end-of-school treats.
But Enterprise Day is about much more than just fundraising - it’s a brilliant opportunity for our Year 6 pupils to develop real-world skills in teamwork, communication, and financial wellbeing. Who knows, we might just be nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs… or even the next Alan Sugar!

Have a great summer,

Phonics Success Across INMAT – Beating National Averages!
We’re delighted to celebrate some fantastic progress across INMAT this year: our trust-wide phonics results have jumped from 77% in 2022 to an incredible 90% in 2025 - that’s 9% above the national average!
This rapid improvement means even more of our youngest learners are getting off to the very best start with their reading. Early reading success is absolutely crucial, building strong foundations for learning, greater confidence in the classroom, and a lifelong love of books.
“This is a brilliant achievement for our pupils and staff,” said Helen Williams, CEO. “It shows the power of consistent, high-quality teaching and how our shared approach across the trust is transforming early reading.”
A huge thank you goes to the dedicated staff teams across all our schools for their commitment to phonics and early literacy. The introduction of the Read Write Inc. programme by Ruth Miskin has been a key driver of this improvement, helping children develop accurate reading skills while building confidence and fluency.
By working together, sharing great practice, and using high-quality resources, we’re helping to close the attainment gap and ensure every child learns to read well and quickly.
We’re proud to be unlocking potential—one sound at a time.
-
+13% improvement in just three years
-
90% of pupils secure in phonics
-
Above national averages across the board

A Digital Leap Forward: Brand-New IT Equipment Across All Schools
We are delighted to share some fantastic news to round off the academic year - INMAT has successfully delivered a major upgrade in IT provision across all of our schools!
In one of our biggest investments to date, every school within the Trust has received a brand-new suite of IT devices, marking a huge step forward in ensuring our pupils and staff have access to the very best digital tools for teaching and learning.
This exciting project was driven by a collaborative working group, bringing together the expertise of our IT support provider, IT Lead, Headteachers, a Trustee, and central team colleagues. Their combined efforts ensured that every school received the right quantity and highest standard of devices, creating a consistent and high-quality digital experience for everyone.
Thanks to this joint effort, INMAT has provided over 400 pupil iPads, 300 pupil laptops, and 50 staff laptops to our eleven schools - a truly transformational investment in the future of education.
But the good news doesn’t stop there! Alongside the new devices, we are also supporting schools in upgrading their network infrastructure to meet the latest Department for Education (DfE) standards, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure access to technology for all.
This Trust-wide project is a shining example of INMAT’s commitment to equipping our schools with the tools they need to thrive in the modern world. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and can’t wait to see the positive impact in classrooms from September.
Here’s to a brighter, more connected future - we hope everyone enjoys their fantastic new devices!

Congratulations, Emily Paterson – NPQLL Success!
A huge congratulations to Emily Paterson, Key Stage 1 Lead and Year 1 Teacher at Kingsley primary School, who has successfully completed her National Professional Qualification in Leading Literacy (NPQLL) this term!
Emily’s achievement reflects her passion for developing high-quality literacy teaching and supporting pupils to become confident readers and writers. Although Emily prefers to celebrate quietly without a photo, we couldn’t let her success go unrecognised. Well done, Emily!
Fond Farewell to Mrs Hains and Miss Butterworth – Standens Barn Primary School
This term, we say a heartfelt thank you and goodbye to two much-loved members of the Standens Barn Primary School community.
Mrs Hains, who joined Standens Barn in 2001 as a newly qualified teacher, has been a pillar of the school community for over two decades. Her dedication, care, and commitment to generations of pupils have left a lasting impact, and her presence will be deeply missed by children, families, and colleagues alike.
Miss Butterworth began her journey with Standens Barn in 2013 as a teaching assistant, before qualifying as a teacher in 2016. Over her 12 years of service, she has grown into a wonderful teacher, shaping the curriculum and inspiring both pupils and colleagues with her enthusiasm and care.
“Both Mrs Hains and Miss Butterworth have made an incredible difference to our school community,” said the team at Standens Barn.
“We are so grateful for their years of service and wish them every success in their next chapters.”
Thank you to all our staff across INMAT schools who work tirelessly to make a positive difference every day - you are what makes our Trust so special.
