Graham Althorpe (appointed Mar 2017)

Graham is a retired UK & Ireland CEO of one of the premier European semi-conductor companies. A director of SEMTA (the Skills Council for Engineering and Manufacturing) and chair of their investment committee, Graham was also the industrial chair of electronics in schools. Graham was a member of government’s electronic innovations team and chair of the electronics leadership council. Graham brings knowledge of schools, ICT, business development and leadership.

Beverley Haywood (appointed Dec 2017)

Beverley trained as a solicitor and, on leaving the legal profession subsequently assumed a number of HR roles over a 20-year period across both the public and private sectors, including the education sector. In her current role, Beverley advises and represents members on a wide range of employment matters and has regular dealings with local and national multi-academy trusts and governing bodies. She represents members in employment matters within maintained schools, stand-alone academies and multi-academy trusts.  She has a sound understanding of employment law including that pertaining to governance.

Michael Thompson (appointed Oct 2017)

Michael Thompson is an experienced teacher, headteacher, education adviser and university lecturer, now retired and operating as a sole trader (education consultant).  Michael has specialist knowledge of special educational needs and/or disabilities and inclusion, having been headteacher of an Ofsted outstanding special school in Leicester City and a school improvement adviser (inclusion) for Leicester City local authority and Northamptonshire local authority. From 2014 to 2017, Michael was teaching school lead at Fairfields Teaching School Alliance.

Pamela Hutchison (appointed Nov 2021)

Pamela has been headteacher of a number of secondary schools in Northamptonshire and Suffolk.  Pamela has a particular interest in working with schools in challenging circumstances that need to make rapid improvement.  She is chair of trustees at Campion School and Language College.

Mary Tulley (appointed March 2023)

Mary has 40 years of experience in mainstream and special education in a wide range of roles including class teacher, Head of Department, Phase Leader, Cluster Coordinator, External examiner, NCSL facilitator, LA Adviser, School Improvement Partner, Achievement Coach, ITT tutor, mentor and external assessor. She has lived in Northamptonshire for the past 20 years and has worked with a range of individual schools, MATS and TSAs.  Mary acts as a mentor and coach for Leadership at all levels and has developed global learning programmes locally and internationally, in Spain, Iceland and Finland through the Erasmus Scheme.
